Jack Jurgens's Ministry Library

Ministry and gospel recordings

About

This site comprises the recordings of ministry and gospel meetings made by Jack Jurgens of the Midland Park, NJ Gospel Hall.

Jack began recording meetings of the assembly in the 1980s, which was the cassette tape era. Tapes recorded only a half hour, so a tape had to be flipped mid-message to record an entire hour meeting. Tapes had to be copied, lent out, and recovered from sometimes-forgetful borrowers.

CDs and MP3 recorders changed that. Jack could now record an entire hour’s message without fumbling with tapes, and the messages could be burned on inexpensive CDs that were distributed without needing to be returned.

After the turn of the century, podcasting (this web site) made it possible for Jack to distribute his recordings to all comers. Furthermore, the messages could be listened to on portable devices, and the entire archive subscribed to without needing to manage individual messages. Beside this site, Jack’s recordings are available permanently in the Internet Archive (archive.org).

Jack went home to be with his Lord and Savior April 7, 2021.
